Backup Offsite to a Secure Location

Drobo Sync makes copies of all files stored on a DroboPro FS to another DroboPro FS unit at a remote location. This protects your data from physical damage like fire, flood, or theft.

Point-in-Time Snapshots of Your Data

Drobo Sync lets you specify how often you want to sync your data. You can either schedule your Drobo Sync process or simply press a single button to backup your data any time you want.

Incremental Backups Boost Efficiency

Drobo Sync is incremental in two ways: 1) when it runs it will copy new files that don't exist to the second DroboPro FS, 2) if it detects that a file has changed on the primary DroboPro FS, it will only transmit those parts of the file that are different. It will not waste time and bandwidth transferring data that hasn't changed.

Validated File Copies

For every file that it copies, Drobo Sync will validate the integrity of the copy. This ensures that the files on the primary and secondary systems match each other exactly.

Easy Setup

Setting up Drobo Sync is simple - in Drobo Dashboard enter the IP address of the remote DroboPro FS to be used for backup and set a common password for authentication. Then select a backup schedule, choices range from once per hour to once per day. Learn how to setup and manage Drobo Sync.

WAN or VPN Friendly

Drobo Sync will work with a normal WAN/Ethernet connection. Simply make sure that port 843 is open on your firewall. If you have a VPN connecting your two locations then you may use it to ensure data is secure as it moves between your locations.
